Bookbuzz Primary is a subsidised book gifting and reading for pleasure programme aimed at pupils in Key Stage 2 (7-11).
The programme is designed to give all pupils in Years 3-6 the opportunity to choose a book to take home and keep from a carefully curated selection of 16 titles. Schools are then able to buy discounted copies of the books to distribute to their students.
Participating schools also receive a range of resources to help deliver the programme and create engaging, social reading experiences with lots of opportunities for book talk. Resources include:
- A Bookbuzz Primary launch pack containing posters, a bookmark for every pupil and a guide with tips and ideas on how to promote the programme in school.
- Two copies of each of the 16 expert-selected Bookbuzz Primary titles for the library.
- Access to the Bookbuzz Primary Coordinator Area offering a wide range of digital and printable resources and opportunities to engage with the Bookbuzz authors.
Timeline:
- Registration for Bookbuzz Primary opens on 2nd March and closes on 18th September.
- The Bookbuzz Primary titles will be announced on 7th May.
- Launch packs arrive in September.
- Student book ordering opens on 7th September and closes on 16th October.
- Books are delivered to schools by the end of the autumn term.
Cost: £3.65 per student. Schools buy as many books as they need.
