Bookbuzz Primary is a subsidised book gifting and reading for pleasure programme aimed at pupils in Key Stage 2 (7-11).

Participating schools also receive a range of resources to help deliver the programme and create engaging, social reading experiences with lots of opportunities for book talk. Resources include:

  • A Bookbuzz Primary launch pack containing posters, a bookmark for every pupil and a guide with tips and ideas on how to promote the programme in school.
  • Two copies of each of the 16 expert-selected Bookbuzz Primary titles for the library.
  • Access to the Bookbuzz Primary Coordinator Area offering a wide range of digital and printable resources and opportunities to engage with the Bookbuzz authors.

Literacy Hive Likes:

  • Each Bookbuzz Primary collection is chosen by an independent panel of book experts that includes KS2 teachers, English leads and teachers in charge of the school library.
  • The books are carefully selected to ensure that there is something to suit all interests and reading levels, including dyslexia friendly options and Braille editions of some of the titles.
  • Running Bookbuzz Primary with all Key Stage 2 pupils offers opportunities for peer engagement and support across classes and year groups and allows schools to build a real sense of community around books and reading.
  • The programme builds on the latest reading for pleasure research, championing pupil choice and promoting positive interactions around books to encourage volitional reading.
  • Provides pupils who may not have access to books at home with their own book to keep.
  • Bookbuzz is also available for secondary schools.
