The Tir na n-Og Shadowing Scheme provides the opportunity for teachers and pupils to read and discuss the titles on the Tir na n-Og shortlists and cast their votes for the Readers’ Choice Award.

Schools can register to shadow one of the three award categories and will receive a free shadowing pack with book summaries, comments from the official judges, information about the authors, book-related activities and voting cards for the relevant category:

  • Welsh-langauge Primary (ages 4-11)
  • Welsh-language Secondary (ages 11-18)
  • English-language title with an authentic Welsh dimension (ages 4-18)

Timetable:

  • The shortlists are announced in March and shadowing begins.
  • Votes for the Readers’ Choice Awards must be submitted by mid-May.
  • The winners are announced in May/June.

Cost: Registration is free. Discounts on the shortlisted titles are available for all other participating schools.
