The Edinburgh International Book Festival’s Schools Programme provides access to some of the biggest names writing for children and young people today with events for both primary and secondary schools. The 2026 Schools Programme will run from Monday 24th – Friday 28th August.
Events take place across a range of venues at Edinburgh Futures Institute. A number of events are also livestreamed. Tickets for both in-person and online events can be booked using an online booking form from Tuesday 28th April.
Cost: In-person tickets cost £4 per pupils (free adult ticket with every 10 pupil tickets). Online events are free.

It also works year-round with partners in the local community to help foster a lifelong love of reading.
