The London Schools Literature Festival (formerly Barnes Children’s Literature Festival Schools Programme) is a programme of free in-person author events for state-funded primary schools in London. The 2026 programme runs from 21st May to 26th June with events taking place in 11 venues across London.
This year’s lineup features some of the biggest names in children’s literature, including: Neill Cameron, Maisie Chan, Joseph Coelho, Tracey Corderoy and Steven Lenton, Christopher Edge, Hannah Gold, Matt Goodfellow, M. G. Leonard, Tọlá Okogwu, Serena Patel, Jenny Pearson, Onjali Q. Raúf, Katherine Rundell, Joshua Seigal and Ross Welford. See the full programme here.
Booking opens on 11th February 2026 on a first-come, first-served basis.

About Barnes Children’s Literature Festival: Barnes Children’s Literature Festival was launched in 2015 by a group of parents with a love of books and a desire to inspire the next generation of readers. The Schools Programme was launched in 2018 and is now the largest free schools programme of its kind in England.
