The British Library Learning Programme offers a range of hands-on workshops, curated exhibitions and interactive tours to support primary and secondary educators at its two sites in London and Leeds.

Workshops and events include:

  • Research Matters: developing independent research skills for primary and secondary pupils.
  • Write Here: creative writing workshops inspired by some of the exhibits in the Treasures Gallery.
  • Once Upon a Time – Tell/Make a Story: developing literacy and language skills through storytelling and imaginative play.
  • Exploring Black British Literature.
  • Sounds familiar: exploring speech, accent and dialect through the oral history collections from the National Sound Archive.
  • Windrush Voices: exploring the wider social and historical context of the arrival of the Empire Windrush in 1948.
  • Teacher CPD sessions.
  • Author events to support temporary exhibitions and/or key events in the literacy calendar.

Cost: Free but booking essential.
