The UKLA International Conference is an annual conference that draws speakers from across the globe to share research, expert practice and ideas covering all aspects of literacy. The 2025 International Conference will take place on 27th-29th June at John Moore’s University, Liverpool. The theme for this year is Beating the Odds, Changing Futures.
This year’s conference will explore the power of inclusivity and the role of literacy education in overcoming challenges, promoting health and wellbeing and improving life chances for all.
Keynote Speakers:
- Frank Cottrell-Boyce, award-winning children’s author and current Waterstones Children’s Laureate.
- Anežka Kuzmičová, Research Group Leader at Charles University, Prague.
- Dominic Wyse, Professor of Early Childhood and Primary Education, UCL and Founding Director of the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Pedagogy (0-11)

Cost: £240/£305 for UKLA members/non-members for the full 3 days until 30th April. Single and two-day tickets also available.
