Oracy October is a month-long celebration of oracy. It aims to raise awareness of the important role oracy plays in supporting young people to transform their learning and their lives. Details of Oracy October 2025 to be released.
The Oracy October website offers a range of resources to support teachers, including:
- A programme of free, expert-led webinars.
- Free resource packs for EYFS, Primary and Secondary schools with challenges to help students hone their listening skills.
- Specialist blogs.

- Topical Talk is a year-round programme of free resources from the Economist Education Foundation designed to help students aged 10+ develop critical thinking and communication skills through discussion about current affairs.
- Words for Work is the National Literacy Trust’s fully funded communication and aspirations programme working with young people from disadvantaged communities. They are currently looking for schools to take part in their KS3 and KS4 and Post-16 programmes.
