The National Literacy Trust’s Secondary Conference is an annual in-person conference exploring evidence-informed approaches and resources to support all aspects of secondary literacy. The 2026 conference will take place on 6th July in Birmingham.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Christina Clark, Director of Research and Evaluation at the National Literacy Trust.
  • Geoff Barton, Former General Secretary of the Association of School and College Leaders.
  • Professor Jessie Ricketts, Professor of Psychology and Vice Dean for Research and Knowledge Exchange at Royal Holloway, University of London.
  • Chie Kutsuwada and Julian Sedgwick, Carnegie-nominated illustrator and author team.

About National Literacy Trust: NLT is an independent literacy charity working with schools and communities to give disadvantaged children the literacy skills to succeed in life. The charity runs literacy programmes, CPD training courses for teachers, and provides online resources and tools to its members.
